Banatska Palanka

Banatska Palanka (Serbian Cyrillic - Банатска Паланка, Hungarian Palánk ) is a small town in the southern Serbian province of Vojvodina, in the Serbian part of Banat. The town belongs to the municipality of Bela Crkva in Okrug South Banat. The place has just under 1,000 population (1990: 976 inhabitants) and practically consists of two parts: Stara Palanka ( German: "Alt - Palanka " ), originally settled by the Danube Swabians in the north and Nova Palanka (old Hungarian name: Haramvár ) in the south along the Danube River, formerly with a greater proportion of residents of Hungarian ethnicity.

Banatska Palanka is located on the north bank of the Danube - opposite the village of Ram. The traffic between Banatska Palanka and Ram over here one kilometers wide will take place on ferries.
