Bancroft point

The Bancroft - point is the point at which the saturation vapor pressure curves of two substances cross. Above the point has a different component of the higher vapor pressure to be below the point. It is also spoken by an inversion of the vapor pressures. The Bancroft - point occurs only with components whose saturation vapor pressures move in a similar order of magnitude.

The importance of the Bancroft point is that it is a clear indication of azeotropic behavior of a binary mixture of the two substances.
