Bandy World Championship 1993

The 18th Bandy World Championship was held from February 2 to February 7 1993 Hamar Norway. Sweden defeated Russia in the final, which took as a successor of the Soviet Union, 8-0. The host team won Norway for the first time since 1965 with bronze again a world championship medal.

Game Mode

The eight teams were classified according to their strength in an A and a B group. The first three of the A group qualified automatically for the semi-finals. The fourth group A had a game against the First of the B group unsubscribe, whose winner would also qualify for the semifinals.

The games in the group stage lasted for 2 x 30 minutes during the placement matches in the normal length 2 x have been played 45 minutes.

Venue

Venue was the newly opened Vikingskipet in Hamar, which was built for the 1994 Winter Olympics.
