Baneuil
Baneuil is a commune in the Dordogne department in Aquitaine in France. The 349 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Baneuillais call themselves. The place name is derived from Baneuil Banolium and thus from the Latin Balneolum ( small bathroom ).
Geography
The River Dordogne flows through Baneuil. It is located about two kilometers from the town of Lalinde and 16 kilometers from Bergerac on the right-hand slope of the Dordognetales.
Attractions
- A Romanesque church from the 12th century.
- The castle Château de Baneuil, the living area from the 15th and 16th century comes and stands between a rectangular Romanesque donjon from the 12th century and a round tower of the 14th century.
- The Dolmen du tranche salmon ( German: Salmon slice).
