Bangkok-Aquarium

The Bangkok Aquarium ( Thai: สถานแสดงพันธุ์สัตว์น้ำจืดกรุงเทพมหานคร or สถาน แสดง พันธุ์ สัตว์ น้ำ กรุงเทพฯ ) is the oldest aquarium in Thailand.

The Bangkok Aquarium was founded in 1940 and is located on the campus of Kasetsart University in Bangkok. It is home to over 560 species of freshwater fish in the country, and around 100 species of aquatic plants. Among the fish species

  • The wolverine - Haiwels
  • Called the Giant Barbe, also Siamese Giant Carp
  • Of Siamese Tiger Fish ( Datnioides microlepis )

The aquarium is owned by the Department of Fisheries of the Thai government and operated by this also.
