Bangkok Bank FC

Bangkok Bank FC ( Thai: สโมสร ฟุตบอล ธนาคาร กรุงเทพ ) was a semi-professional football club based in the Thai capital Bangkok, which was established in 1955. Zurletzt the club played in the highest Thai feature class, the Thailand Premier League, and finished by the end of the 2008 season, the 14th Place. The home games were played at Bangkok Bank Stadium.

Club history

The name and logo were derived from the Bangkok Bank. The Bangkok Bank is one of the largest banks in the country. She was at the same club owner, namesake and sponsor of the club. The FC Bangkok Bank has 12 championships one of the most successful clubs in the country.

After a completely surprising and disappointing 14th place at the end of the 2008 season the club was relegated to the second league. Since the introduction of the Thailand Premier League 1996, the club always belonged to the first league.

In December 2008 it was announced that the club Bangkok Bank FC is dissolved. In addition to the decline in the second league of Thailand is likely one of the main reasons have been that the new league runs for the club would have been difficult to realize. These new restrictions have been introduced as part of the Vision Asia project of the AFC.
