Banovci is a village in Croatia in the Vukovar- Syrmia County.

Location

Banovci lies on the border with Serbia (10 km ) near the Serbian region of Srem. The village has 479 inhabitants ( as of 2001) and belongs to the municipality Nijemci.

History

Before the Second World War lived a number of Germans in the village. After the war they moved to Austria. Today, the majority of the inhabitants of Serbian origin. According to the census from 1910 Banovci had 990 inhabitants, of whom 686 German
