Banting (crater)

Banting is a small, bowl -shaped impact crater on the moon, near the center of Mare Serenitatis. The surface is flat and its surrounding without remarkable characteristics. The crater was known as Linnaeus E before it by the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) was renamed after the Canadian physician Sir Frederick Grant Banting 1973. The main crater Linné is located west-northwest.
