Geography
Banzendorf is located seven kilometers north of Lindow (Mark). The area around Banzendorf is hilly, in the southwest is the Diernberger Heath.
History
The village Banzendorf is mentioned for the first time in 1365. The former name was " casa Banzendorp ". Banzendorf belonged before 1541 to the monastery Lindow. From 1541 to 1764 Banzendorf belonged to the Official Lindow (Mark), 1764-1872 to the Official Alt Ruppin. As of 1992, the village belonged to the Official Lindow (Mark) until a district of Lindow (Mark) was established in 2003.
