Barbados Labour Party

The Barbados Labour Party ( BLP ) is the current opposition party in Barbados.

It was founded in 1938 by Grantley Herbert Adams. Is currently the Chairman until January 2008 ruling as Prime Minister Owen Arthur. In the 2003 elections, the BLP won 23 of 30 seats. In the subsequent elections of 2008, the BLP won only 10 seats and Owen Arthur was replaced by David Thompson as Prime Minister. In the elections on 21 February 2013, the BLP could improve to 14 seats.
