Barbara Leigh-Hunt

Barbara Leigh- Hunt ( born December 14, 1935 in Bath, Somerset, England) is a British theater and film actress.

Life

Barbara Leigh- Hunt came in 1935 as the daughter of Elizabeth ( née Jones) and Austin Chandos Leigh- Hunt in Bath to the world. Even as a drama student at the Bristol Old Vic in 1952 she gave her professional stage debut. From then on, she appeared in numerous theater productions, especially in plays of William Shakespeare, in England and in other European countries. In the 1950s, she was also seen on Broadway, including in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Hamlet. At times, they also belonged to the Royal Shakespeare Company.

From 1965 she was a regular front of the camera. She played a murder victim in 1972 Alfred Hitchcock thriller Frenzy. That same year she played Catherine Parr in Henry VIII and His Six Wives (Henry VIII and His Six Wives ). In the television miniseries Wagner came in 1983 as Queen of Bavaria in addition to acting greats such as Richard Burton, Vanessa Redgrave, John Gielgud and Laurence Olivier used. She is known for her portrayal of Lady Catherine de Bourgh imperious in the BBC television miniseries Pride and Prejudice ( Pride and Prejudice, 1995 ) in which she appeared opposite Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth.

Since 1967, Barbara Leigh- Hunt is married to actor Richard Pasco, who brought his son William into the marriage and with whom she played several times on stage and in film together.
