Barbara Nath-Wiser

Barbara Nath - Wiser ( born February 28, 1949 in Linz) is an Austrian doctor.

Barbara Nath - Wiser studied medicine in Vienna and emigrated to India in 1978. She founded in 1984 the Nishtha - Rural Health, Education and Environment Center (Sanskrit Nishtha "Trust ") for the population of the Kangra valley in the hometown of her husband Krishan Nath Baba, Sidhbari in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. In addition to conventional methods of treatment of this health center also offers homeopathy, acupuncture and Ayurveda.

1986 her husband died, Barbara Nath - Wiser decided to stay in India and continue their project. 2004 Barbara Nath - Wiser was awarded the Two Wings Award, in 2005 she was nominated as part of 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005 for the Nobel Peace Prize.
