Barbara Schett

Barbara Schett Eagle ( born March 10, 1976 in Innsbruck ) is a former Austrian tennis player.

Career

Still under her birth name Barbara Schett was from 1992 elite player on the WTA Tour. She won there three tournaments in singles and ten doubles. Her best result at a Grand Slam tournament was the quarter- finals at the U.S. Open in 1999. Their highest world ranking position they reached in 1999 with rank 7 in the same year she qualified for the only time in her career for the season finale, the WTA Tour Championships, where she came to the quarterfinals.

From 1993 to 2004 Schett played 48 games for the Austria Fed Cup team, of which they won 30.

2001 Schett was in the German tennis league with the TC Blau-Weiss Bocholt, inter alia, together with Kim Clijsters and Miriam Schnitzer German team champion.

Your tennis career ended Barbara Schett 2005, the Australian Open. In the same year she was awarded by the Federal President Heinz Fischer, the Silver Medal for Services to the Republic of Austria.

Since the end of their active careers Schett has been with euro sport as a sports reporter. On 6 July 2007 she married the former Australian professional tennis player Joshua Eagle and Barbara Schett Eagle has since been known. On 28 April 2009, the two parents of a son were.
