Barbara Wood

Barbara Wood ( born January 30, 1947 in Warrington near Liverpool, England) is an American writer.

Life

Wood emigrated with his parents and older brother in the United States and has lived in California since 1954. She attended Los Angeles High School. After they had completed this, she enrolled at the University of California in Santa Barbara. After a year she broke off his studies and worked about 10 years in various occupations such as secretary and nurse in a neurosurgical clinic.

In 1976, she submitted her first story - Hounds and Jackals (dogs and jackals ). The text was rejected. The editor, however, mediated Wood to a publisher who was looking for talents: Harvey Klinger. Since then, Harvey and Wood work together. Since 1980 she has been mainly working as a writer. She published under the pseudonym Kathryn Harvey.

The title of best-selling author have been translated into over 30 languages. The heroine almost every work is an emancipated woman. Woods books are set in a variety of venues. All were - scattered across the globe - mostly visited before writing Barbara and her husband George.
