Bärbel Inhelder

Bärbel Inhelder ( born April 15, 1913 in St. Gallen, † February 17, 1997 ) was a Swiss developmental psychologist.

Bärbel Inhelder studied at the University of Geneva. She was a student, colleague and successor of Jean Piaget. After obtaining a doctorate degree in philosophy in 1943, she worked for many years as a professor (1948 ), together with Piaget.

In 1971 she took over the position of Piaget at the University of Geneva until 1983. During her long life she led numerous scientific experiments with children. She learns international recognition as a psychologist.

She has published many articles and books on developmental psychology.
