Barcău River (Criș)

Course of Barcău / Berettyó in Romania and Hungary

The Berettyó (Romanian: Barcău or Beretău ) is a 167.3 km ( according to other sources 134 km) long river in Transylvania in Romania and in Northeast Hungary.

It has its source in the circuit in Salaj Romania. They crossed the Romanian Bihor County and Hajdú -Bihar and Békés Hungary.

It opens at Szeghalom in the Sebes Körös ( Fast Screaming; Romanian: Crisul Repede ). After the river, the city is named Berettyóújfalu.

  • In Hungary: Kismarja, Pocsaj, Esztár, Hencida, Gáborján, Szentpéterszeg, Berettyóújfalu, Bakonszeg, Zsáka, Darvas, FÜZESGYARMAT, Csökmő, Szeghalom.
