The Bärenköpfle

The Bärenköpfle (also called bear's head ) is a 1,476 m high mountain in the lying on the northern edge of the Allgäu Alps Nagelfluhkette. Located just south of Immenstadt district Oberallgaeu in the German state of Bavaria. The Vertical separation of Bärenköpfles is at least 56 meters, its dominance 900 meters, the mountain is Steineberg reference each.

To climb it is about noon mountain, the mountain of the community Immenstadt. The bear's head is mostly covered with grass, only the peaks cross stands on a two-meter- high cliff. Was named the mountain because supposedly the last bear in the Allgäu said to have been shot on him in 1760. The name was first mentioned in 1819 in the Bavarian Uraufnahme sheet.
