Origin

Later Goldwyandotten, Rhode countries and presumably Indian fighters were bred. The breed is considered dual-purpose breed because it does a good egg production, fattening ability and meat quality is connected.

There are a number of different color varieties. The most common is the double -lined color variety, which has a very unusual pen and ink drawing. The springs are double lined. That is, they have a double black Saumzeichnung on a maroon background. In performance look of this color feature strives to maintain a uniform distribution.

Barnevelder considered to be relatively quiet and tame chickens. They fly only reluctantly, making them particularly suitable for private entertainment outdoors.

The eggs have a fairly thick brown shell, which makes it attractive for use in incubators.
