Barnstädt is a municipality in the district Saale in Saxony- Anhalt. It belongs to the municipality Weida -Land, which has its headquarters in the town of Nemsdorf - Göhrendorf.

Barnstädt is on the Querfurter plate between Halle ( Saale) and Erfurt.

History
In a resulting 881-899 Directory of tithing of Hersfeld Monastery Barnstädt first mentioned as requiring a tenth place in the frieze Bernstat field in a document.

The honorary mayor Otto Weber was first elected on October 16, 1994.
Culture and sights
Particularly well known is the Barnstädter St. Wenceslas Church, across borders is widely known because of the very old peal and the 1409 patch, twisted tower helmet.
Sports
The SV 1946 Barnstädt eV is the sports club in Barnstädt with the departments soccer, bowling and wrestling. Both men managed teams in football in the season 2007 /08 as part of the restructuring of the counties in each promotion to the next higher division. So the first team rose to the first class of the new circle Saalekreis in the new county league and the second team. With the 2012/2013 season, the second team was withdrawn due to lack of players on the game operation.
