Barnstaple railway station

The Barnstaple railway station is the terminus of the Tarka Line and is located northwest of Exeter, Barnstaple, Devon in the UK. Normally, the station is serviced by eleven weekdays and Sundays from six trains; these lead over Exeter, where connection is made to the main line, to Exmouth. A footpath leads from the station to the cycle, which runs along the disused railway line to Bideford. The station is served by the railway company First Great Western.

History

Since August 1848 goods were transported to the Quay of Fremington. On 1 August 1854, the North Devon Railway was opened Barnstaple Crediton for passenger traffic.
