Baron Chetwode

Baron Chetwode, of Chetwode in the County of Buckingham, is a British hereditary title of nobility in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, which is run by the family Chetwode.

Award

The title was in 1945 Field Marshal Sir Philip Chetwode Walhouse, 7th Baronet awarded. This was achieved in the First World War on the Palestine front as a cavalry general great success and was then ascended to the Supreme Commander of the British Indian Army.

Another title

The first Baron was a Baronet, of Oakley in the County of Stafford, already the gentry. The baronetcy, which belongs to the Baronetage of England, was awarded to John Chetwode, an ancestor of the first Barons already in 1700. It is now operated as additional tracks in addition to the barony.
