Barren ground shrew

Sorex ugyunak is a species in the genus Rotzahnspitzmäuse. It is closely related to the American mask Rotzahnspitzmaus. Like these, they belongs to the fauna of the Arctic. Its distribution extends from northern Alaska to northern Canada and the western coast of Hudson Bay. Unlike the American mask Rotzahnspitzmaus is their habitat is the tundra, only achieve a low level in the willows and birches.
