Bartolomeo Ammannati

Bartolomeo di Antonio Ammanati (or Ammannati ) ( born June 18, 1511 Settignano or Florence, † April 13, 1592 in Florence ) was an Italian architect and sculptor. He was a pupil of Baccio Bandinelli (Florence) and Jacopo Sansovino (Venice), and later - under the influence of Michelangelo - one of the leading exponents of Mannerism in Florence. He was married to the poet Laura Battiferri, both are buried in the jointly planned and built the church of San Giovanni degli Scolopi in Florence.
