Bartonville is a town in Denton County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States of America and is part of the Dallas - Fort Worth Metroplex.

Geography

The city is located east of U.S. Highway 35 in northeast Texas, is located in the north about 100 miles from Oklahoma and has a total area of 15.7 km ², of which 0.1 km ² water surface. The distance to the lying in the southeastern Dallas is about 50 km.

History

Bartonsville was first part of the Chinn 's Chapel settlement, which had been founded by Elisha Chinn. Later the settlement area was divided into three distinct communities and from 1878 Bartonsville Once a city, named after T. Bent Barton. 1886, the first post office was opened. 1890, the place had 25 permanent residents, a general store, a mill and a small business for the processing of cotton, all owned by the Barton family. In 1896, the population had risen to 100. The further growth of the town was slow and 1933, there were only 300 people.

According to the census of 2000, there were 1,093 people in 382 households and 323 families. The population density was 70.0 inhabitants per km ². Ethnically, the population itself is composed of 97.62 % White, 0.00 % African American, 0.00 % Native American, 0.91 % Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander residents from the and 0.55 % from other ethnic groups. Approximately 0.91% are descended from two or more races and 3.20 % of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

Of the 382 households 36.9 % had children under the age of 18 living with them. 74.3 % were married couples living together. 6.5 % had a female householder with no husband, and 15.2 % were non-families. 12.6 % of all households were single-person households and 2.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.86 and the average family size is 3.10 people.

25.8 % of the population were under 18 years old, 6.9 % from 18 to 24, 26.1% 25-44, 35.6 % from 45 to 64, and 5.7 % who were 65 years or older. The average age was 41 years. For every 100 females of all ages were 104.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over 105.3 males.

The median income for a household was $ 95,259, and the median income for a family $ 98,140. Males have a median income of $ 63,750 versus $ 43,625 for females. The per capita income was $ 43,706. 4.4% of the population and 3.1% of families are below the poverty line. Of which 6.6 % have children under the age of 18 and 4.5 % of those 65 or older.
