The Barwon River is a river in southern Victoria, Australia.

The source of the Barwon River is located in the Otway Ranges. The river first flows north to Winchelsea east until it reaches the city of Geelong, where the Moorabool River discharges.

The Barwon River flows through the southern districts of the port city of Geelong, but without open into the Corio Bay only two and a half kilometers away, but changes its course to the southeast. A number of bridges spanning the river in Geelong. Exceptional is the lane Queens Bridge Newtown's. With several parks in the Barwon River is a popular recreation area for Geelong.

The river crosses in the result, the Bellarine Peninsula and flows through the Lake Connewarre. It flows into Bass Strait between Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads south-east of Geelong.
