Bas-Uele District
Bas- Uele (German bas = Low, in German atlases usually Uele, Belgian - French- Uele, franco- french also Ouélé ) is a district of Orientale Province in the Democratic Republic of Congo capital Buta.
Geography
The district is located in the northeast of the country and bordered to the north by the Central African Republic to the east by the district of Upper Uele, on the west by the province of Equateur.
History
In 1962, the Province Orientale was dissolved and the region built the Uele province. In 1966, the province was restored. According to the results from the Constitution of 2005 administrative reform Bas- Uele should be one of the 26 provinces. Early 2011, the administrative reform was stopped, and thus belongs Bas- Uele initially continue to Orientale.
Health service
The situation in health care is precarious. In 2005, the plague, or at least a pestähnliche epidemic has broken out, according to reports from the World Health Organization in Zobia and demanded 57 fatalities.
