Basil Salvadore D'Souza

Basil Salvadore D' Souza (* May 23, 1926 in Bondel, British India; † 5 September 1996) was Bishop of Mangalore.

Life

Basil Salvadore D' Souza received on 25 March 1952, the sacrament of Holy Orders.

On March 22, 1965 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Bishop of Mangalore. The Internuncio in India, Archbishop James Robert Knox, gave him on 11 May of the same year the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were the archbishop of Calcutta, Albert Vincent D' Souza, and the Bishop of Chikmagalur, Alphonsus Mathias.
