Basilio do Nascimento

Basílio do Nascimento ( born June 14, 1950 in Suai, Portuguese Timor ) is the Roman Catholic Bishop of Baucau in East Timor.

Life

On June 25, 1977 do Nascimento received the sacrament of Holy Orders in Dili. Pope John Paul II appointed him on 30 November 1996 Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Baucau newly created and titular bishop of Septimunicia and donated it on 6 January 1997, the episcopal ordination. When Carlos Filipe Ximenes Belo resigned for health reasons as Bishop of Dili, do Nascimento was Apostolic Administrator of Dili. He was succeeded by Alberto Ricardo da Silva as Bishop of Dili, as do Nascimento was appointed Bishop of Baucau on 6 March 2004.
