Baskery

Baskery is a Swedish alternative country band that himself describes her style as Country Punk, Mud Country or Killbilly. Their first LP case Among Thieves released in 2008 and reached in May of the year the top Swedish 60th

The group exists since 2006 and consists of three sisters who accompany their polyphonic vocal harmonies on acoustic instruments, namely, Greta (born 7 February 1978), Stella (born 20 March 1980) and Sunniva Bondesson (born 5 October 1982).

Band History

Baskery was formed in 2006 by a clear grouping of Slaptones, those who belonged to the father of the women Janåke Bondesson as a drummer. The Slaptones released two albums ( 2003 Simplify and Amplify 2004) and were, among others, with the Brian Setzer Orchestra on tour of the USA.

Published in 2007 the first EP of Baskery, One Horse Down, at Veranda Independent Records. Their first album, produced by Lasse Marten a live recording in the studio, arrived in Sweden in May 2008, in other European countries (including Germany, Austria and Belgium) in the autumn of the year and in the UK in January 2009 into the record. Since 2008, the three women have occurred at concerts and festivals in North America and Europe.

In July 2009, the WDR Rockpalast Baskerys appearance ( late March 2009) radiated from the Crossroads Festival in Bonn.

Style

Baskery was initially compared with the Dixie Chicks, Roches and the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, preferably, however, after some initial cover versions now have their own songs, which help the group in conjunction with the acoustic instrumentation and often three-voice singing a distinctive sound. Mojo described their performances as " absolutely wonderful ... They play their own style with enthusiasm recognizable, coupled with a not small to be estimated virtuosity and great temperament, is irresistible ."
