Basque (clothing)

A bustier (also Torselet or Torselette ) is a garment of female underwear. In contrast to the corsage, which extends from the breasts to the waist, the bustier extends to the waist, thus enveloping the female torso. It has no lacing as the corset, but supports and shapes the female breast and waist with vertical sewn chopsticks. There are versions with and without shoulder straps; most torselets are with - equipped garters - often detachable. Often a ornate design with fabrics like lace or satin in various colors.
