Description

The Basset artésien normand for its size (up to 36 cm) very long. The hair is short, close fitting but not too fine, in the colors of fawn with black coat and white ( tri-color) or fawn with white ( bicolor). The ears are set as low as possible, never above the eye line; thin, very long, at least as long as the fishing, preferably ending in a point. Its direct ancestor is the Basset d' Artois, who came up in this race and is now considered extinct.

Use

Like all Bassets he is a dog for hunting small game. Due to its short runs thickets are not a problem for him. He hunts with track volume, ie barking, alone or in a group. It is very robust and is often kept as a companion dog.
