Action
Anney Boatwright (played by Jennifer Jason Leigh ) lives in the 1950's in South Carolina. It educates alone two daughters - Reese (played by Lindley Mayer) and Ruth Anne (played by Jena Malone ). She married Glen Waddell (played by Ron Eldard ), their marriage becomes a hell. The children are abused.
Criticism
- Filmdienst: directorial debut of actress Anjelica Huston, the topic respectfully approaches, however it represents with merciless hardness. Here, the under the skin movie takes no voyeuristic or exploitative attitude, but will clear up by exposing the abuse and displacement mechanical and prosecute on behalf of all abused children.
