Batan Island
The island of Batan (formerly Divatan ) belongs to the same group of islands of Batan Islands. It lies in the northern Philippines in the province of Batanes. The appearance of the island is mainly determined by the two mountains Iraya and Mahtarem. The coastline is characterized mainly by the large bay Mananioy in the east. Batan has an area of 76 km ². In 2000 11.173 people lived on the island. Another island of Batan is located in the Philippine province of Albay.
