Batangas City

Batangas City (Filipino: Lungsod ng Batangas ) is a Philippine city. It lies on the southern coast of the main island of Luzon, in the region CALABARZON and is the capital of the province of Batangas.

Batangas has a seaport and is an important center for the handling and processing of agricultural products from the region.

Currently, the largest statue in the world is being built in the southern part of the Batangas Bay. The " statue of Monte Maria " will be 102 meters high, higher than the Statue of Liberty in New York (93 meters) and the statue of Christ in Rio de Janeiro (38 meters). The statue is to be seen from the daily about 200 passing ships on the shipping route of the Isla Verde Road. The municipality belongs Verde Iceland, which is well known in diving athletes.
