Rivière Batiscan

Rivière Batiscan is a river in the Canadian province of Québec.

The 196 km long river flows from Lac Édouard in the region Mauricie south to St. Lawrence River and flows into this at Batiscan - 30 km east of Trois- Rivières and 80 km west of the provincial capital of Quebec.

Hydropower

Centrale de Saint -Narcisse is the only hydroelectric plant on the Rivière Batiscan. It was completed in 1926 and is operated by Hydro-Québec. Two turbines together generate 15 MW. The hydraulic potential is 44.81 m.

River

The Rivière Batiscan has its origins to 363 m altitude in the Laurentian Mountains. He entspring the lake Lac Édouard. This has a further drain the Rivière Jean Notte, which unites after 48 km by Rivière Batiscan. The Rivière Batiscan flows south to the St. Lawrence River.
