Batısandal

Batısandal is a village in the district of the Turkish province of Mersin Erdemli. The village is located about 12 kilometers southwest of Erdemli and 50 kilometers southwest of the provincial capital of Mersin.

Batısandal is located in the mountainous hinterland of Limonlu, about five kilometers from the Mediterranean. Across the road the past Öküzlü about Sömek after Cambazli and Uzuncaburç, the ancient olba, runs from Limonlu It is located on the site of a Roman-Byzantine settlement in the Rough Cilicia. The ruins are built over by modern houses, in part, the buildings are built on old floor plans, in many spoils are installed. On the eastern outskirts of the village are the remains of the Byzantine church of Batısandal. About three miles to the west lies the ancient ruins of Öküzlü.
