Battleaxe (Band)

Battleaxe is a British new-wave -of- British -Heavy- Metal band from Sunderland, which was founded in 1981, disbanded the early 1990s and 2010 found again.

History

The band was founded in early 1981. After a short time the label Guardian Records became aware of the band. This was followed by recordings for a compilation. In addition, it was also included on the compilation Roxcalbur with two songs on which Satan and Black Rose could be heard. This attention was raised to the band, which led to radio and TV appearances. Thus they reached a deal with Music for Nations, in which the debut album Burn This Town in 1983 appeared. In 1984, the band returned to the studio to record the second album Power from the Universe. After several more years of activity and various line-up changes, the band broke up in the early 1990s. In 2010, the band reunited.

Style

The band plays traditional music of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, the harsh vocals and the fast game speed are particularly characteristic.
