Bawadi

Dubai Bawadi or short Bawadi ( Desert ) is a tourism project in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, whose construction came to a halt for the time being.

The project was on 1 May 2006 by Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum officially announced. It is developed and managed by the state-owned development company Tatweer and should after a budget increase 200 billion AED cost ( around 42 billion euros ).

The Bawadi - building area is around 15 km from the coast inland as part of the project also stopped Dubailand. It extends on both sides of the street of a 10 km long and 2 km wide arid strip of land. According to the master plan should be here 51 mainly large luxury hotels, most occur in unconventional high-rise architecture with a total of 60,000 rooms, theaters, cinema centers and shopping malls. Furthermore, the construction of the world's biggest convention center was announced.

Should be complemented elongated Bawadi hotel and shopping core through residential areas and recreational facilities, which are arranged as outer cells around the inner zone very compact. The first of these new neighborhoods is called " Asmaran " and should also provide enough space for generous green spaces and recreational facilities with nearly 7 square kilometers. In Asmaran first is the " Teema " said residential development with 308 town houses and villas in the Spanish style in the market.
