Bayat (Afyonkarahisar)

Bayat is a town and a district of the Turkish province of Afyonkarahisar. The town lies about 40 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital of Afyonkarahisar.

The district is located in the north of the province. It is bordered on the east by Emirdağ, on the southeast by Bolvadin, to the south Çobanlar, on the west by Iscehisar and to the north by the province of Eskişehir. Due to the city and county the European Route 96 runs from Izmir to Sivrihisar. In the north of the county is a part of the mountain Şaphane Dagi.
