Bayawan
Bayawan City ( Lungsod ng Bayawan in Tagalog and Cebuano in Dakbayan sa Bayawan ) is a component city in the province of Negros Oriental on the island of Negros in the Philippines. It has 114 074 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 28 barangays. It belongs to the second class of income communities in the Philippines. 83 % of the area is urbanized than rural, 14.7% and 2.3% as partially be described as urban. The title of a Component City received the city on 23 December 2000.
It is located about 102 kilometers northwest of Dumaguete City, the journey time is approximately two and a half hours by bus, by car about two hours. Your neighboring municipalities are Santa Catalina in the south, Basay in the West, Tanjay City in the southeast, Bais City in the east and in the north Mabinay. The narrow coastal strip in the south west has a length of 15 km and is located on the Sulu Sea. In the northwest it borders on Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental. The area of the municipality of 699.08 km ² around 13 % of the total area of the province of Negros Oriental. The topography of the parish is described as hilly to mountainous.
