Bayerische Akademie der Schönen Künste

The Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, the association of well-known personalities from the artistic life. It is intended as "supreme foster the art."

Tasks

The Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts was founded by the Free State of Bavaria in 1948, following on from the tradition of 1808 established the Royal Academy of Arts in Munich.

The object of the academy, " the development of the arts to continuously monitor, they promote in every her deems appropriate way or to make suggestions for its promotion " is, further " to contribute to the intellectual debate between the arts and between art and society afford and stand up for the dignity of art ".

The Academy organizes panel discussions, exhibitions, readings, lectures and concerts. By selecting each year ordinary and corresponding members be included in the four departments of fine arts, literature, music and performing arts; Moreover Honorary members are appointed.

By 1968, the Academy had its headquarters in the Prinz- Carl- Palais; after she received a provisional quarters at Karolinenplace. Since 1972, it is housed in Königsbau the Munich Residence.
