History

The club was founded on August 5, 1934 as " Association sportive Catholique Ettelbruck " ( ACSE ), ie three years after the first basketball section in Bettembourg ( Luxembourg ) had been established. The Catholic Youth Association has sought to offer a sport in order to provide the competition of other youth organizations such as the Scouts or soccer associations can stand up. So basketball appeared as a suitable sport. The game is played in the " larch " on a covered with a layer of ash meadow.

After some initial testing and friendlies in order to acquire the theory and practice of the basketball game, the ASCE played from now in the Luxembourg championship and cup matches.

During the war years 1941-1945 the ASCE was like all other Catholic associations dissolved in Luxembourg by the Nazi invaders and confiscated their assets.

In October 1945, a new, non-denominational Basketballfederation was placed on the legs in Luxembourg. Lacking in Ettelbruck at all, a merger was sought with the local football club FC Etzella and approved, so out of the ASCE "BBC Etzella ". It was played from then on the paved schoolyard in Ettelbruck. 1951 decided both sports sections to go their separate ways.

The first major success was the 1954 BBC recorded by winning the " Coupe de la sovereigns ". There followed the golden years, 1955 for the first time national champion, 1956, the first "Double". 1958, the BBC Etzella had the privilege to compete in the first game in the European Cup against Belgium ROYAL IV, Ben Meyers scored the first points in the history of the European Cup.

1962, the club was named after the next round in the European Cup against SISU Copenhagen as the best Luxembourg sports team. In 1967, with the newly built sports hall " On Däich " finally found a covered and weather- independent sports venue.
