BC Dynamo Saint Petersburg

The Basketbolny club Dynamo St. Petersburg (Russian баскетбольный клуб « Динамо » Санкт - Петербург ) was founded in 2004 and took over the license of Awtodor Saratov in what was then Russia's highest league Super League Russia and also a starting place in the third European club competition FIBA Europe League, which now better is known as the euro Challenge. Already after the 2005/06 season the club was out of money and the team was disbanded as a professional team and withdrawn from the game.
History
Under coach David leaf they reached the Final Four tournament of FIBA Europe League in Istanbul in the first season. With the final victory over BK Kiev they won all twenty games in this competition. In the semifinals of the tournament had already been the national competitor BK Khimki defeated, against whom one fifth of normal time in the quarter-final play-offs but was eliminated in the Russian championship.
The following season, coach changed leaf to Italy Benetton Treviso and the Greek Fotis Katsikaris took over as coach. Under Katsikaris the Final Four of the competition was again achieved now called EuroCup as the defending champion. In Kiev Palace of Sports, which was a year earlier than planned venue for the final tournament to Dynamo and BK Khimki were again compared to the semi-finals. This time won Khimki, in the squad including the German national team Ademola Okulaja stood, the semifinals in this international competition, while Dynamo finally the game for third place against hosts BK Kiev lost, who had been a year earlier still defeated in the final. In the Russian national championship they lost the semifinal series in five games just as well against Khimki and reached here in third place.
