BK Ural Yekaterinburg (Russian Урал Екатеринбург ) is a professional basketball club of the Russian Superleague A from Yekaterinburg, Russia.

History

Ural Yekaterinburg was formerly Sverdlovsk founded in 2006 as a successor to earlier, some renowned, basketball clubs from Yekaterinburg. One of his predecessors, Uralmash Sverdlovsk was in Soviet times 20 - times champions of the Russian Federation and produced several world champions and Olympic winner, such as Stanislaw Jerjomin, Sergei Belov or Ivan Dworny.

After the re- Ural first started in the Super League B, then the second Russian league. After the founding of PBL, the club played in the Super League A, the Ural won in 2012 and 2013. In the 2011/12 season the club came in the Final Four of the Russian Cup. After this season Yekaterinburg was allowed to start in qualifying for Euro Challenge 2012/13, but lost the Romanian Gaz Metan Medias. For the 2013/14 season Ural got the right start for the group phase of the Euro Challenge.
