Beasley River

The Beasley River is a river in the north-west of the Australian state of Western Australia. It is located in the Pilbara region.

Geography

The river rises about 40 km north- west of Tom Price in the Hamersley Range. It then flows southwest and empties in the settlement Cheela Plains in the Hardey River.

Origin of the name

The river was named in 1962 after the surveyor Thomas Beasley, who mentioned him in a report on his expedition first time in 1885. Before this river was called Turner River. They renamed it so that it can not be confused with another river of the same name in Western Australia.
