Beate Schramm

Beate Schramm ( born June 21, 1966 in Leisnig ) is a former rower, which was established in 1988 for the East German Olympic gold medalist in the quadruple sculls.

The Junior World Champion in 1983 and 1984 in One was at the East German Championship 1983 second behind Jutta Hampe. 1985 Cornelia behind the lens and 1986 behind Sylvia Schwabe, she was again GDR Vice-Champion. At the World Cup 1986, she launched along with Sylvia Schwabe in the double sculls and won the title. After the two were in 1987 only fifth at the World Championships, Schramm joined her partner and went with Kathrin Boron. The two were able to DDR internally but not prevail over the later Olympic champion Birgit Peter and Martina Schröter. Schramm joined the quadruple sculls at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, the GDR sculls won gold in the occupation of Jana Sorgers, Kristina Mundt, Beate Schramm and Kerstin forester. For this victory, as well as for winning the world title in 1986, she was awarded in 1986 and 1988 with the Patriotic Order of Merit in gold.

1989 Schramm, together with Jana Sorgers world champion in double sculls, 1990 and 1991, she won the title along with Kathrin Boron. 1991 and 1992 won the German championship in Schramm One. At the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, however, they missed the finals, the B-final they did not appear to.

Beate Schramm competed for the SG Dynamo Potsdam, Potsdam later for the RG. She trained first at Jutta Lau, and later with Jörg Landvoigt and Lothar Trawiel. After her career the commercial clerk, first worked in the Ministry of Finance of Brandenburg; later, she joined the Federal.
