Beatrix of Brandenburg

Beatrice of Brandenburg ( † September 22, 1314 in Wismar ) was the first wife of Henry II ( the Lion ) ( 1266-1329 ), Prince of Mecklenburg, whom she married in 1292 at the Burg Stargard.

Beatrix was the daughter of Margrave Albrecht III. of Brandenburg and Mathilde of Denmark. The wedding of 1292 is country historically significant because Beatrix rule Stargard brought as a jointure into the marriage and thus into the hands of the Mecklenburg. As his marriage came no male descendants, considered the Ascanians after the death of Beatrix as the jointure back died. The resulting intellectual inheritance dispute between Mecklenburg and Brandenburg to this rule culminated in the " Margrave War ", the " Treaty of Templin " in 1317 took his degree with the rule and the Stargard brought permanently to Mecklenburg.
