Beauce

The Beauce is a sparsely populated French flare landscape that is divided among the present-day department of Eure -et -Loir, Loir -et -Cher, as well as smaller parts of Loiret, Essonne and Yvelines. Thus, the largest part lies in the administrative region of Centre. Capital is Chartres.

The Beauce is a tree - and shrub -free, coated with a layer of clay fertile Kalkebene. Agriculture dominates the landscape, which is characterized by extensive grain and sugar beet fields. It is mainly cultivated wheat. The Beauce is considered one of the most important grain -growing regions of France ( " granary of Paris ").
