Schmuckkleiber ( Sitta formosa )

The Schmuckkleiber ( Sitta formosa ) is one of the rarest Kleiberarten the world. It is found in northeastern India and neighboring regions. The Schmuckkleiber has a mostly black back with white stripes. The upper back, sides of the torso and shoulders are bright blue. The underside is dull -orange, the face is a little brighter. In the dense forest the bird is looking at tall trees for insects.
