Becker (TV series)

Becker is an American sitcom that was produced and broadcast by CBS from 1998 to 2004. It consists of a total of 129 episodes in six seasons.

Overview

Ted Danson plays the title role of Dr. John Becker, a cynical, bad-tempered doctor with his own practice in the Bronx. About half of the series takes place in practice, where Becker must grapple with his employees and patients, and the other half in a coffee shop where Becker meets his acquaintance. From time to time the action takes place in locations such as Becker's apartment and other venues, for example, in the subway.

In Season 1 Episode 20 (taxi to Queens ), there is a crossover with the series Everybody Loves Raymond, Cosby and The King of Queens, whose respective main characters Ray Barone ( Ray Romano), Hilton Lucas (Bill Cosby ) and Doug Heffernan ( Kevin James ) can be seen. By further crossover under the said series Becker is part of a shared universe series of Everybody Loves Raymond, Cosby, Love must be crazy, The Nanny, The King of Queens and Sara's exciting country life as well as the feature film This is Spinal Tap.

Dr. John Becker played by Ted Danson, who is best known from the sitcom Cheers. Good humor is a foreign word for Becker. He has the special ability to see in all the worst, and is a notorious complainer in the company. His attempts to proceed alone against the system are almost always doomed to failure - even though he tried it at every opportunity. Dr. Becker was final in his class at the American elite university Harvard and is now with his mid-forties GP with a rundown practice - in comparison to the highly paid specialists in the U.S. a career dead end. Jake is played by Alex Désert. He is Becker's best friend and runs a newsstand in the coffee shop. Jake is blind five years before the beginning of action after an accident. The actor Alex Désert is not blind in real life.

Margret, played by Hattie Winston, is John's chief assistant and takes care of him - this is rarely very affectionate before, but rather maternal resolutely. Besides the work is their difficult marriage with her husband Louis their main occupation. Louis is one of the TV characters that are mentioned more often, but are never seen in the picture.

Linda, played by Shawnee Smith, is also a medical assistant in Becker's practice.
